Hamirpur (HP), Dec. 31 -- A large number of young Indians are developing health-related problems at a relatively earlier age than the earlier generations, said a public health expert today.
Unless India builds a culture of proactive health, avoidable diseases will continue to take lives, drain families financially, and overburden the healthcare system, according to Dr Naresh Purohit, Principal Investigator for Indian Medical Academy for Preventive Health.
Dr Purohit, an acclaimed epidemiologist, was addressing an awareness programme for encouraging healthier choices and supportive environments for lifestyle-related health issues organised by the Kangra-based Indian Military Hospital on the eve of New Year.
