Dharamshala, Dec. 29 -- The Indora police have seized a pickup vehicle loaded with illegally felled khair wood during a naka (checkpoint) on the Indora-Gangath road in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, Kulbhushan Verma said the action was taken by Indora police late last night during routine checking. At around 10:45 pm, a police team stationed at Indpur Chowk stopped a pickup vehicle coming from a kutcha link road near the Kattha factory towards the Indora-Gangath main road.
On searching the vehicle, police recovered 27 khair wooden logs (both small and large). The driver failed to produce any valid permit, permission or licence for transporting the forest produce.
