Chamba/Shimla, Oct. 26 -- A young college student was seriously injured after a young man attacked her with a knife at a location near Chamba city yesterday morning. The woman sustained injuries to her neck in the assault, police said today.
The victim, a resident of Hardaspura Mohalla and a student at Chamba College, is currently undergoing treatment at Chamba Medical College.
An official spokesman confirmed today that the accused is a resident of Amritsar who worked at a city salon. The victim was allegedly being pressured by the man to marry him, despite her repeated refusals.
