Shimla/Nahan, Jan. 10 -- Five more bus passengers succumbed to their injuries either on the way to hospital or during treatment, taking the number of casualities in the tragic bus accident at Haripurdhar in Sirmaur district to 14 this evening.
The confirmation came after the Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Transport portfolio, visited the accident site and reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
Earlier in the day, a private bus, operating on the Kupvi-Haripurdhar-Shimla route, skidded off the road and plunged into a nearly 400-metre-deep gorge near Haripurdhar. The bus was travelling from Shimla towards Kupvi when the accident occurred at a sharp curve in the hilly terrain.
