Shimla, Jan. 9 -- In a significant administrative move aimed at addressing slow service delivery and a mounting backlog of revenue cases, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to re-employ retired revenue officials across the state.

A notification issued by the department on January 6 said a decision has been taken to strengthen the revenue machinery at the field level and ensure faster disposal of long-pending cases.

According to an official communication issued by the Department of Revenue, the government has authorised the re-engagement of retired Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars, Kanungos, and Patwaris.
