Shimla, Nov. 8 -- The Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Department (TCP) has notified draft amendments to the Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Rules, 2014, under the Sixteenth Amendment Rules, 2025, introducing major changes in the construction norms related to plot size, floor area ratio (FAR), setbacks, and building height limits.

The draft notification, published in the Rajpatra (Official Gazette) on November 3, 2025, invites public objections and suggestions within 30 days from the date of publication.

As per the proposed amendment, the maximum height for residential buildings has been fixed at 21 meters, while multi-level parking structures can go up to 25 meters.
