Shimla, Oct. 30 -- The hill state of Himachal Pradesh is emerging as a national leader in natural farming, with the government setting an ambitious goal of becoming a completely organic state by 2030.

The credit for introducing and popularizing natural farming in Himachal goes to Acharya Devvrat, the former Governor of the state and now the Governor of Gujarat. During his tenure in Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat actively toured rural areas, motivating farmers to adopt natural farming methods and encouraging agricultural experts to promote the initiative on a larger scale.
