Shimla, Nov. 15 -- Responding to rising incidents of traffic congestion, reckless driving, illegal parking, and dangerous stunts by bikers and motorists, the Himachal Pradesh Government has initiated the rollout of an Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS).

State spokesperson said in a press release that a modern, camera-based system is being implemented in 13 of the state's 15 police districts in the first phase, marking a significant shift toward technology-driven traffic governance.

With the installation of high-resolution CCTV networks, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, speed-detection devices, and red-light violation systems, traffic enforcement in the state will move to a real-time surveillance model.
