Shimla, Sept. 28 -- With the detection of 266 new COVID-19 cases, the total tally in the state surged to 14,457 on Monday, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Mr R D Dhiman said here.

The death toll also mounted to 175 after five more patients succumbed to the virus.

Mr R D Dhiman among the 266 new COVID-19 cases, 70 cases were registered in Kangra, 41 in Shimla, 28 in Sirmuar and Hamirpur, 24 in Mandi, 16 in Kullu, 15 in Bilaspur, 14 in Lahaul Spiti, 11 Solan, seven each in Una and Chamba and five in Kinnuar.

The five fatalities includes two from Mandi and one from Kinnaur.

Now, the death toll has increased to 42 in Kangra, 31 in Shimla, 26 in Solan, 25 in Mandi, 13 in Sirmuar 12 in Una, ten Chamba, seven in Hamirpur, six in Kullu and...
