Shimla, Dec. 9 -- Restricting social-media use in uniform, Himachal Pradesh Police Headquarter today issued a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regulating the use of social media by police personnel, especially while in uniform, with immediate effect.
The directive, issued by Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari, aims to safeguard the dignity of the police uniform, uphold departmental discipline, and prevent misuse of digital platforms.
According to the SOP, no police officer or employee is permitted to upload entertainment, promotional, religious, social, political or personal reels, photos, videos or posts while wearing the police uniform.
