Shimla, June 23 -- The Himachal Pradesh Police, District Shimla, has issued a formal rebuttal in response to reports suggesting that traffic congestion led to many candidates missing the Junior Office Assistant (IT) examination held on Sunday.
The police clarified that despite an unprecedented tourist influx over the extended weekend (June 20-23), comprehensive traffic arrangements ensured smooth movement in the city.
According to the official statement, more than 60,000 tourist vehicles entered Shimla during the period, in addition to local traffic.
A total of 189 traffic police personnel, supported by 85 other police officials, were deployed across key traffic points.
