Shimla, Feb. 4 -- The tate government on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court by filing a Special Leave Petition (SLP) seeking a stay on the directions issued by the Himachal Pradesh High Court to conduct Panchayat and urban local body elections within a fixed timeline.
Confirming the development, Secretary (Information) C Paul Rasu told UNI today that the State government has approached the apex court to challenge the impugned High Court order and to seek legal clarity on holding elections when the National Disaster Management Act is in force in the State.
