Shimla, March 15 -- Himachal Pradesh, which has been facing a prolonged dry spell, remained overcast with dark clouds since early on Sunday, and the state is likely to witness a major spell of rain and snowfall, ending the one-and-a-half-month-long dry period considered crucial for the Rabi crops in the state.
Dark clouds have been hovering in the sky since early morning and there are reports of thunderstorms at some places.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain or snowfall at a few places, which is likely to provide respite from the prolonged dry spell and the abnormal rise in temperatures.
