Shimla, Sept. 4 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has launched a large-scale rescue operation to evacuate devotees stranded during the Manimahesh Yatra.

A government spokesperson said here today that the operation is being carried out under the direct supervision of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has been personally supervising the operation on the ground for the past several days. Travelling on foot from Chamba to Bharmour, he has been directly engaged in coordinating the evacuation and ensuring the safety of devotees.
