Shimla, Sept. 2 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today passed the Registration (Himachal Pradesh Amendment) Bill, 2025 by a voice vote without discussion, paving the way for a digital overhaul of the property registration system in the state.

In the absence of Revenue Minister Jagat Singh, Education Minister Rohit Thakur presented the Bill, saying the move was aimed at bringing transparency, efficiency and relief to the public from prolonged delays in property transactions.

"We have ensured that mutation of registers will be carried out at the time of execution of documents. Digital documents will now be accepted during registry and mutation, which will save people from unnecessary visits and delays," he told the House.
