Shimla, Sept. 5 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court today held a Full Court Reference to mourn the demise of Senior Advocate Kapil Dev Sood, who passed away on July 11, 2025.
Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia, while paying homage, described Sood as a soft-spoken, honest, and hardworking lawyer whose passing was not only a loss to his family but also to the entire legal fraternity.
"With his demise, we have lost a fine gentleman and a great role model," the Chief Justice said, expressing condolences to the bereaved family.
Born on April 7, 1941, in Dehra Gopipur, Kangra district, Sood pursued his early education at St. Edward's School, Shimla, before earning a law degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
