Shimla, Sept. 17 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the state government to appoint a petitioner, Anand Swarup, as Drawing Master after holding that his legitimate teaching experience was wrongly ignored during the selection process.

Passing verdict in favour of petitioner recently Justice Sandeep Sharma, while allowing Swarup's writ petition, observed that the Selection Committee erred in not awarding him 1.5 marks for three years of teaching at Government Senior Secondary School, Gumma, between 2009 and 2012.

The court ruled that the appointment under the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) could not be a ground to disregard the experience certificate duly issued by the school principal. The petitioner had originally secured 3.66 ...
