Shimla, Sept. 9 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court has recently allowed the petition of Jagat Ram, a retired Class-IV employee, and directed the state government to grant him pensionary benefits within four weeks.
Justice Sandeep Sharma, while pronouncing the judgment on September two (released to media today), held that the petitioner was entitled to pension in light of the Supreme Court's rulings in Sunder Singh vs State of Himachal Pradesh and Balo Devi vs State of Himachal Pradesh.
The Court observed that the petitioner's 10 years of daily wage service was to be counted as two years of regular service, which along with seven years of regular service, entitled him to pension under the law.
