Shimla, March 26 -- The Himachal Pradesh Government has introduced a nominal milk cess of 10 paise per unit on electricity consumers, along with an environment cess for industrial power users.

Despite these new impositions, the state government assured that domestic consumers would not be impacted, as they continue to receive subsidies to ensure free power supply.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, responding to a query from Bhuneshwar Goar, clarified that the government had allocated Rs. 1555 crore to the state electricity board to maintain the free power scheme for domestic users.
