Shimla, March 26 -- The Himachal Pradesh Government has demanded a compensation of Rs 20 crore from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for the extensive damage caused to state roads during the construction of four-lane highways in the state.
The government claimed the damages to the state roads severely impacted local traffic and disrupted the movement of commuters.
Responding to queries from members during the Zero Hours of the state Assembly session, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh explained that the state had suffered significantly due to the NHAI's ongoing construction works.
