Shimla, March 26 -- Himachal Pradesh government has requested the Centre to amend the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) to allow state-owned land to be allotted to families affected by natural disasters, a minister told the Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to a member during the Zero Hour, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said the government was incapable of providing relief to people occupying state-owned land who were being affected by recent high court orders, despite their ancestors having used the government land for their livelihood.
