Shimla, Jan. 8 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of pursuing policies that are "anti-youth" and detrimental to the future of educated unemployed youth in the state.

Addressing the issue of government employment, Thakur said that the Congress, which had promised to provide one lakh government jobs every year before coming to power, has completely reneged on its electoral guarantees. Instead of opening avenues for fresh recruitment, the government is now reappointing retired officials, thereby depriving young aspirants of employment opportunities.
