Shimla, May 19 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday said he would raise the demand for banning import of Turkish apples in all states during an upcoming meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the issue of Turkey apple imports impacting local growers, Sukhu vowed to raise the matter with the Prime Minister during the May 24 meeting of state governments.
"I will demand a hike in import duties or double it to protect the interests of Himachal apple farmers. The current policy must be reviewed," he said.
