Shimla, March 28 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has introduced a bold new piece of crime legislation, drawing inspiration from Maharashtra's successful Organised Crime Control Act (MOCA), to combat organised criminal activities like drug trafficking, cyber terrorism, human organ trade, and healthcare fraud.

This new legislation, named the Himachal Pradesh Organised Crimes (Prevention and Control) Bill, 2025, was presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in the state assembly on Wednesday and passed on Friday with voice votes.
