Shimla, June 14 -- Himachal Pradesh battles an unrelenting heatwave; the Directorate of School Education has revised school timings for summer-closing schools in six districts - Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN area) in Solan, and Paonta Sahib and Nahan in Sirmaur - where temperatures are soaring up to 45degC.
The official order issued by Director of School Education Ashish Kohli reads, "Keeping in view the harsh weather conditions and ongoing heat waves, it is directed that the school timings for students/teachers be adjusted from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, if required."
