Shimla/Mandi, Feb. 14 -- A fresh political storm has erupted in Himachal Pradesh over the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) after a government letter surfaced indicating that Rs 2,006.02 lakh was released for health infrastructure works in Mandi district, including projects in the Assembly constituency of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur.
The communication, issued under the 15th Finance Commission provisions, refers to the transfer of funds amounting to Rs 44.74 crore, out of which over Rs 20 crore was earmarked for various health institutions in Mandi district.
