Jwalamukhi (Kangra), Jan. 7 -- A nilgai (blue bull) was found dead in a stream beneath a culvert in the Khaula Panchayat area near the SSB Training Centre on the outskirts of Jwalamukhi on Tuesday.
Panchayat Pradhan Shimla Devi said she received information in the early hours and initially searched with villagers, but dense fog hampered efforts.
Later in the morning, blood stains were noticed at several spots, following which the Forest Department and police were informed.
Teams from the Forest Department and police launched a joint search and traced the blood trail to the culvert, where the carcass was recovered from the stream. One leg of the animal was found severed, indicating excessive blood loss and raising suspicion of foul play....
