Shimla, Aug. 5 -- A Nahan court has sentenced a mother to life imprisonment for murdering her minor daughter.
The court of Additional Sessions Judge Gaurav Mahajan on Tuesday pronounced this sentence after declaring the accused, Aruna Chauhan, guilty.
The verdict was pronounced under Sections 302 and 182 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Public Prosecutor Rashmi Sharma, on the night of 2 November 2020, the accused brutally beat his daughter with an iron rod in the bathroom of his house in Paonta Sahib, causing serious injuries to the girl. After this, she was locked in the bathroom.
The next day, on November 3, the accused took the girl to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
