Una(HP), Sept. 14 -- There has been a concerning rise in health issues following recent floods and heavy rains in the hill state, primarily due to contaminated water sources and increased vector-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya, said Dr Naresh Purohit, Advisor - National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme.

In a release here to alert the public about the fever season noted Epidemiologist Dr Purohit stated that floods not only cause widespread destruction to homes, infrastructure and agricultural land but also pose severe health risks that are often overlooked in the immediate aftermath.
