HP: Former Cong MLA Thakur injured in firing, his PSO in critical condition

Shimla, March 14 -- Former Congress MLA from Bilaspur Bambar Thakur was shot by unidentified assailants from a close range near his residence here on Friday afternoon.

According to initial reports, unidentified assailants fired nearly 12 rounds, injuring Thakur and his personal security officer (PSO), Sanjeev Kumar.

The former MLA and his PSO sustained gunshot wounds in the back and abdomen.

Thakur was initially treated in Bilaspur and later referred to IGMC Shimla for advanced medical care, while his PSO has been admitted to AIIMS Bilaspur in critical condition.
