Shimla, Feb. 1 -- An 85-year-old woman in critical condition was successfully airlifted from the remote and snowbound Dodra Kwar area of Shimla district today and admitted to PGI Chandigarh, following swift coordination between the district administration, the Himachal Pradesh government and the Air Force.
The patient, identified as Dharmi, a permanent resident of Kitarwadi village in Dodra Kwar tehsil, had been suffering from paralysis for the past week. With her condition deteriorating and road connectivity snapped due to heavy snowfall in the Chanshal region, her family approached the local administration on January 31 seeking urgent medical evacuation.
