Solan, April 16 -- The vegetable market located in Kather, Solan, has once again come under the scanner as farmers have raised serious allegations against some 'arhtiyas' (commission agents), accusing them of colluding with APMC officials. Farmers have claimed that despite repeated complaints, no strict action has been taken against the erring 'arhtiyas'. According to them, whenever they bring their produce to the market, some agents deliberately underweigh the vegetables. They alleged that even if a farmer brings 100 kg of produce, the agents forcibly deduct 1-2 kg under the pretext of "kaat" (unofficial deduction), causing them direct financial loss.
