Shimla, Dec. 14 -- About 100 tourists and students stranded at Kufri due to have snowfall have been rescued by police.

Superintendent of Police Om Pati Jamwal said a team of district administration, Shimla rescued the tourists. The operation, which was launched late Friday night, ended at 0400 hrs this morning. The passengers were stranded as their buses were skidding in the snow. Rescued tourists were taken to Gurudwara and Tribal bhawan Dhalli.

Tourists are advised not take risks and venture out in snow, he added. All roads, including Hindustan Tibet road, in the district Shimla remained snowbound. UNI ML SV 1047
