Kolkata, Jan. 15 -- West Bengal's ruling Trinamul Congress on Wednesday urged the Election Commission to clarify as to how many form 7 - application for deletion of name in existing electoral roll - an individual can submit.

A five-member Trinamool delegation met the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Agarwal and submitted a memorandum seeking clarification.

The matter came to light after two BJP workers with thousands of Form 7s were intercepted by the police in Bankura district. They were travelling in a vehicle. The police are conducting an inquiry into the matter.

The delegation members were Dr Shashi Panja and Dr Manas Bhuniya, both ministers. Partha Bhowmik and Sayoni Ghosh, both MPs and Samir Chakraborty, former MLA.
