Sanaa, March 27 -- Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels have signalled readiness to join the conflict in support of Tehran if the United States and Israel escalate military action, raising fresh concerns over regional stability and global shipping routes.
A senior Houthi official said the group could intervene based on battlefield assessments and coordination with Iran and allied forces. "Yemen. will join in supporting Iran. We have a religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibility to do so,"US media quoted Mohammed Mansour, undersecretary in the Houthi-run information ministry as saying.
