Washington, Nov. 12 -- A private conference call among House Democrats on Monday soon erupted into a furious session, as lawmakers expressed intense fury after a group of Senate centrists cut a deal with the Republicans for ending the ongoing shutdown of the US government, reports Axios.
More than a dozen lawmakers spoke during the call, with most vehemently condemning the agreement, viewing it as tantamount to capitulation.
Rep Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) said that the public was incensed with the Democrats' willingness towards making compromises with the GOP, viewing it as a surrender amid the shutdown standoff.
