Bengaluru, March 23 -- Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti on Sunday announced his decision to step down from his post, citing dissatisfaction with recent developments in the House.

Addressing reporters, Horatti expressed disappointment over his inability to maintain decorum during the proceedings and stated that continuing in the position was no longer appropriate.

"I am disheartened by the recent developments in the House. I have failed to control the proceedings, and I feel it is not right for me to continue as Chairman," Horatti said.
