Despite India's higher world team ranking at No. 4, Hong Kong, ranked No. 6, played with greater purpose and composure to register a dominant 3-0 win and secure a place in the medal rounds in a match played last night.
In the women's quarterfinals played last night here, the Republic of Korea overcame Hong Kong, China, 3-1, while second seed Japan survived a thrilling five-set battle against DPR Korea, winning 3-2 to secure a spot in the medal rounds. Between them, they played 24 out of 25 games.
