Hong Kong, May 27 -- Hong Kong is set to host the headquarters of the newly formed International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), marking a major milestone in the city's efforts to establish itself as a global centre for legal and diplomatic dispute resolution.
The formal signing of the convention establishing IOMed will take place on 30 May, with support from Beijing and attendance expected from top Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Renovation work is underway at the historic Wan Chai Police Station, which will house the headquarters, scheduled to open by late 2025 or early 2026, reports South China Morning Post.
