Bengaluru, March 20 -- The Karnataka government on on Thursday ordered a high-level investigation into an alleged honey trap attempt on a minister, following claims by Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna that the state has become a "CD and pen drive factory", an apparent reference to the growing menace of political blackmail through explicit recordings.

Speaking in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Rajanna alleged that a network of individuals was orchestrating honey trap operations and that 48 politicians across different parties had fallen victim to such tactics.
