Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- Telangana Jagruthi president and former MP, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, today demanded that the local body elections should be held only after 42 per cent reservations for BCs are provided.

Key meeting on strategies to achieve 42 percent reservations for BCs chaired by Kavitha, who recently resigned from BRS party, held a crucial meeting at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills here with more than 70 leaders from BC communities.

During the meeting, she expressed anger that the Congress party is betraying BCs by failing to implement the Komaram Bheem BC declaration.

The Congress has deceived BCs by not keeping a single promise made to them, she alleged.
