HK Patil alleges 'dacoity' of over 1 lakh votes, slams EC
Bengaluru, Aug. 9 -- Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil today launched a strong attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging largescale irregularities in the electoral rolls and claiming that over one lakh votes had been "stolen" in the state.
Speaking to media here, Patil described the alleged malpractice as far more serious than ordinary electoral misconduct. "It is not just a theft, it is a dacoity. More than one lakh votes have been stolen. The Election Commission should take note of this, but instead, they are telling Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, to submit the complaint on an affidavit," he said.
