Chennai, Oct. 15 -- Japan's Hitachi Energy Technology Service Private Ltd, part of the Hitachi Group,will invest Rs.2,000 croreto expand its Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Chennai.
Hitachi Energy inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government for this in the presence of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin at the State Secretary today evening.
According to the state government, the Rs.2,000 crore investment will be spread over five years and would provide employment toabout 3,000 people.
In 2023, Stalin had inaugurated Hitachi Energy's Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Chennai. The proposed investmentis in continuation of that.
