Ghazipur, Sept. 21 -- The Muhammadabad police on Sunday officially opened a history-sheet against Umar Ansari, the younger son of jailed mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari. Umar is facing multiple criminal charges across various districts including Lucknow, Mau, Ghazipur, and Muhammadabad.
According to Superintendent of Police Dr. Iraj Raja, Umar Ansari has been implicated in a total of seven criminal cases, involving serious allegations such as forgery, fraudulently occupying public land, and delivering inflammatory speeches during elections. Authorities have linked him to the IS-191 gang, a known criminal syndicate led by his father Mukhtar Ansari.
