Hyderabad, Jan. 5 -- Hyderabad residents have raised an alarm as historic water bodies and open wells, including a 200-year-old Chintabavi well in Alwal, face encroachment and potential sale as plots, according to HYDRAA, a statutory body in Hyderabad responsible for the protection of public property and disaster management in the city.
Venrock Enclave residents approached the HYDRA Public Grievance Cell, urging protection of the well and preservation of its historical significance.
Across the city, open spaces in colonies such as Greenhills in RK Puram and near Nizampet's Children's Park are reportedly being encroached upon or altered to suit real estate developments, disrupting natural water flow.
