Dharamshala, March 18 -- Himkara, an innovative prison reform initiative launched by the Himachal Pradesh government, is redefining the state's correctional system by transforming jails into centres of skill development, self-reliance and dignified rehabilitation.
The initiative aims to provide inmates with vocational training and meaningful work opportunities, enabling their smooth reintegration into society as responsible citizens after release. At the Lala Lajpat Rai District and Open Reformatory Home in Dharamshala, prisoners are actively participating in various skill-based activities, gaining confidence and preparing for future employment.
