Imphal, June 29 -- Two Himalayan black bear cubs of about three months in age which were rescued by DC, Tamenglong Angshim Dangshwa earlier from Kadi village, were handed over by DFO, Tamenglong Kharibam Hitler Singh and RFO Tamenglong Joel Gangmei to Manipur Zoological Gardens.
The two bear cubs were received by Veterinary Officer, Dr L Saratchandra Singh of Manipur Zoological Gardens, Iroishemba, today.
Himalayan Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus laniger) is included in the Schedule I of Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
