Dharamshala, March 14 -- Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today criticised the Himachal Pradesh government over its stance on the Right to Information (RTI), alleging that the move reflected internal pressure and attempts to control ministers and MLAs through vigilance investigations.

He said the people of the state want to know why the government appears apprehensive about RTI, which is meant to bring information related to corruption and human rights violations into the public domain. "If the government is transparent, it should not fear the law," he said, urging the Chief Minister to withdraw the decision and present the truth before the public.
