Shimla, March 1 -- An avalanche descended from a high peak of the Pir Panjal Range in Lahaul Valley, sending debris down to the Chandra River but causing no loss of life or property.

Spokesperons of District administeration said that a rescue team was deployed today to survey the loss cuased by the avalanche which hit Gondla area of the district on Saturday afternoon. The administeration stated that large mass of accumulated snow on the upper slopes suddenly destabilised and rolled downhill around 2:30 pm yesterday.
