Shimla, March 7 -- In an inspiring achievement for Himachal Pradesh, 22-year-old Vikas Panwar from Kupvi in Shimla district has secured 159th rank in the union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination, clearing the prestigious exam in his very first attempt.
Panwar completed his schooling at DAV School, New Shimla, where he consistently excelled academically and emerged as a topper in both Class 10 and Class 12. He later pursued a BA (Honours) in Political Science from Hindu College, Delhi University.
His father, Chhatar Singh, is currently serving as Principal in a state government school. Earlier, he also worked in the Panchayati Raj Department and as an Income Tax Inspector.
